Disabling AI: Deconstructing Ableism in Data and Design

Day 1

11:00 – 12:00

Brick Stage

Workshop

English

AI is ableist. But that doesn’t mean it always will be. Join this Disability Studies-driven workshop to explore ways we can rethink data and design to truly “disable” AI and inclusively build our technological futures.

The workshop aims to equip participants with actionable strategies to identify and address ableism in AI, specifically when working with LLMs and assessing visual outputs. Together we will explore strategies for engaging in participatory design and building AI that represents disability more authentically.
