At Whatever, we regularly plan and produce a wide range of experiences that integrate design and technology, including the Osaka Pavilion for Expo 2025, the permanent exhibition “Aging Park” at the Miraikan (National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation), and Kenshi Yonezu’s AR Live.
We are currently taking on a new challenge: producing a stop-motion period drama film created exclusively using hand-carved wooden dolls. Why are we pursuing such an extremely analog and seemingly labor-intensive form of content production?
Behind this decision lies a strong desire to develop and validate hypotheses around key questions, such as how the rise of AI will reshape business models in the creative industry, and what kinds of creative work will continue to generate and retain value in the years ahead.
In this session, Masashi, who serves as the producer, screenwriter, and director of the project titled “HIDARI,” will share insights into both the public vision and the behind-the-scenes realities of the initiative.
