At SmartBank, we are integrating AI into our UX research practice and rebuilding our workflows from the ground up. By shifting operational tasks to an AI-driven workflow, we have reduced the time spent on research operations to one-third—revealing not only new efficiencies but a clearer path toward research that centers on value creation.
In this workshop, we will share the four-month experiment conducted with PMs and designers to explore a core question: Can AI handle the full research pipeline—from interview interpretation to analysis, PRD creation, and even mock generation?
We will also discuss what it takes to improve the quality of AI outputs. A key insight from our practice is the importance of articulating our own tacit knowledge and contextual judgment—our principles, preferences, and the “why” behind decisions—and using that to inspire and guide AI.
In the second half, participants will engage in hands-on work. Through paired conversations, you will unpack the expertise and context you normally take for granted and turn them into a “portable context” you can apply immediately in your daily work.
Our goal is to help you overcome one of the most common hurdles in AI-assisted research: bridging the gap between your own intuition and how AI understands and acts on it.
