“Books That Share a Little Boost of Energy” is the theme.
Each person brings one book to exchange.
Books that energized you when you read them,
Books that seem like they could heal whoever picks them up,
Books that feel like they’ve served their purpose for you now,
Books you never read but owning them alone gave you emotional support,
Books you quietly wish to pass on to someone…
Genre or “correct answers” don’t matter.
Please bring a book that fits the theme and you’re ready to part with,
wrapped so its contents aren’t visible.
This session uses books as a gentle catalyst for conversation,
expanding your encounters with both books and people.

Shiho Yokoyama
Vacance Reading Club
Host of the “Vacation Reading” book club. Launched in 2021 with co-host Saki Kuroda, “Vacation Reading” celebrates its 5th anniversary. It’s a book club held online every Tuesday in a “silent reading session” format where members read books of their choice. We also regularly plan and host events like book-themed field trips and book swaps.
Worked at craft beer startup “Best Beer Japan,” used bookstore and gallery “Tiger Mountain,” and new business development firm “NEWh.” My work involves drinking beer and stacking books.

Saki Kuroda
Vacance Reading Club
Host of the “Vacation Reading” book club. Invited by co-host Yokoyama, I started the book club back in 2021, five years now, and we’ve been casually enjoying our weekly Tuesday reading time ever since.
After building a career as an editorial designer for magazines and other publications at a design firm, Saki now works on original content design for the economic media platform “NewsPicks.”
