Where Design Gets Real in Tokyo
Spectrum Tokyo Festival is a two-day design festival by Spectrum Tokyo, a design community broadening the perspectives in digital design.
Unlike a formal conference or a seminar, everyone is welcome to walk around the venue at one’s own pace like at a music festival, and learn and gain insights as you go. The festival will feature a variety of talks and workshops by a wide range of speakers, a wide variety of booth experiences, and delicious food and drinks, making for two days full of new encounters and dialogue.

Interaction with Speakers
At this event, we have prepared an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session for each speaker—a casual time for open conversation. Rather than just listening to presentations, we encourage you to enjoy the insights that come from actual dialogue. You’re also more than welcome to come by simply to say, “That was amazing!”

Festiva-ish Vibe
We designed this event in a festival-ish vibe so that people can more easily mingle and interact. You are free to walk around the 2 stages, mingle space and talk to other participants and speakers anytime. Also we have quality food like spice curry, special drinks, and hand dripped coffee to boost your fest-experience.

Embracing
Cross-culture
We will provide Japanese-English translations for most of the content. We try to make the event inclusive for both locals and internationals. Afterall, it is the nothing beats the learnings from cross-cultural communications.
Spectrum Tokyo Festival is one of very few design events in Japan that is welcome to both locals and internationals.
Recommended for those who want to
Broaden your perspective on “design”
Directors, engineers, PdMs, marketers—anyone who is working to create better services and products, regardless of job title. Even if you’re not a designer, if you have a sense that you’re “designing” something in your work and want to explore the possibilities of design further, this event is for you.
Engage in dialogue with practitioners in the field
You want to learn from real-world trial and error and actual case studies rather than theory. Through 30-minute talks and AMA sessions, you’ll have the opportunity to engage directly with speakers and connect with peers who share the same challenges or practitioners who are a few steps ahead.
Looking for a learning environment that isn’t stuffy
You prefer candid dialogue over grandiose presentations. You want to enjoy relaxed interactions with good food and drinks in hand, in a free and fun atmosphere reminiscent of a music festival.
